23rd Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad” was held on November 4-11, 2016 and united filmmakers from over 25 countries in celebration of cinema. “Lilly Lane” (Hungary, Germany, France) received the Grand Prix “Golden Listapad” For Best Film, “Communion” (Poland) was awarded Grand-Prix for Best Documentary Film.
















MIFF “Listapad” is a FIAPF accredited film festival which is held annually at the beginning of November in Minsk, Belarus. For the 23rd edition of “Listapad” the festival programmers put together an impressive collection of 163 films from 45 countries divided into 6 competitive and 20 non-competitive programs. 7 international Juries worked to determine, which films deserve the awards of the 23rd MIFF “Listapad”.


The Grand Prix “Golden Listapad” For Best Film was awarded to an enigmatic drama “Lilly Lane” by a Hungarian director Bence Fliegauf for the “bright and original depiction of the mysterious and magical world where fantasy and reality are intertwined”. “Communion” by Anna Zamecka, a Polish documentary about a struggling teenager Ola who’s trying to reunite her family at a critical time, received the Grand-Prix for Best Documentary Film. All awards of the Main Documentary Film Competition can be found here.


The Film Critics Jury recognized a contemplative drama by the Morocco-based director Oliver Laxe – “Mimosas”. It received the Listapad Silver Award for Art as Phenomenon. Listapad Bronze Audience Award was sent to Bulgarian directors Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov for “Glory”. Industry days “Bel:Cinema”. Held for the second time during the course of MIFF “Listapad”, they offered diverse events for film industry professionals and cinema entusiasts ranging from the presentation of Virtual reality cinema to an educational pitching and personal meetings with film producers.


The festival events were held at 7 different venues and gathered together about 20 000 people. More than 100 foreign guests came to Minsk to attend “Listapad” screenings and events.


The 24th MIFF “Listapad” will take place on November 3-10, 2017.
